So, in the youtube video of the 9/25/20 Dire Lord info update.
There is a little, perfectly timed cameo, causing me to chuckle at the juxtaposition of the spoken description of the 'ability' " HARM SHIELD" and the NPC that lumbers past.
Start at 12 minutes 8 seconds.
Ya. It tickled my funny-bone.
The Dire Lord is this hulking mass of a caster killer. Then right as Joppa is explaining the cast damage reflection ability, a short goofy caster waddles past .
Plus that thing looks like a Keebler Elf that fell, hard, out of the ugly tree.
It just was the timing of the ability description and the looks of those two characters that got to me. (Plus my evening THC indulgence)
I laugh easy.

He reminded me of Hoggle from Labyrinth.

Dude!!!! I thought the exact same thing when I saw it!
One thought I have is why do so many abilities have multiple effects?
To me it seems like it would be easier to just allow people to sit down and swap abilities during combat, and have more abilities that have their own effects, than try to mesh so many together (due to not being able to change).

I'm starting to see the abilities as fishing tackle.
I go shore fishing. Troop across long beaches to get to spots. I take what I can carry but not all the gear I possess at home, just can't carry that much. So I tailor the gear for the outing and desired target fish. This ability set design feels like that.
