It's been a LONG time since I played an online game that was down for maintenance. In EQ I used to complain and whine and cry :) But I was young back then and that's all there was to my life. Now I guess I'd go mow the lawn, watch a movie, read a book, etc. I'd play a game with my kids, but they're almost always asleep when I'm trying to play an online game.

I'll just push this rubbish out of the way for now..
Hang out in the log in screen chat channel for a bit and bemoan with the others about the tired or unionizing hamsters getting off the exercise wheel thats powering the servers. sucha venue allows for alot of snark and somertimes humorous commentary. A bold move would be to have a dev pop in and field an impromptu Q&A session durring such times, or even a guide. If planned maintenence is known, it could be scheduled with employees, server maintenece is down, ok so, Kilsin is going on the amberfaet server in chat during maintenence for 15min starting at such and such a time, guide fanboi is going on thronfast server for 15min at same time. Next maintenence it will be Joppa and VP admin Ms. soandso. Onluy requirement is to styay on for 15min and interact to what you want, and be a pressence, provide only information that is also being publically made known about the issue, but can answer other game questions not related to the maintenence as you see fit and that are not spoilers. No customer service related issues will be dealt with during this time,it will be just to show a pressence.
Split screens. I'll keep refreshing login screen from time to time. I'll open discord and chat with guildmembers. I'll open up internet and search for gamerelated news, updates or information. Get refueled with drinks and snacks. But most likely it will be my son/wife who'll claim my attention.
