    Out of combat.

Where is the utlitiy and the flavor outside of combat?

Where's the unique utility INSIDE of combat for that matter?

It looks like I'll love the gameplay, but Pantheon's classes are interesting because they each bring something unique to the able outside of filling a role.

    Where's the Dire Lord's utiility?

The DL's "attraction" is supposed to be in their unique tanking mechanic and intentional contrast to the ShadowKnight/DreadKnight of EQ/Vanguard.  The other classes have actual useful abilities/utilities outside of combat because they weren't completely recreated classes.  They gave the other classes fun gimics (utility) to make them appear like something new and fresh.

Had they re-skinned something like the SK they could've used a myriad of utility options like an enduring breath buff or maybe a stationary Gather Shadows (whole party is invisible while stationary) type of ability, summon corpse.  Perhaps they will have steeper buying/selling restrictions at vendors, or be KoS in more cities than the other tanks, or maybe their utility will be looking like a ranger or shaman for the majority of the game because they wear the same armor.  Being able to manipulate their essence so much that they can change appearance would actually be cool... but highly unlikely.
