What is your hypothetical hotbar (8 picks)?

With the current state of the LAS, what are you guys thinking you will do going forward with your hotbar/hotkeys for all EIGHT of them?

Here is what I am currently thinking, but obviously hoping that a lot of our CC and 'utility' stuff will actually end up available on the "utility bar". Going off of what Joppa stated in the stream, currently they will not - only long duration buff-type spells will be there.

    1. Fervent Strike (Melee Attack)
    2. Pommel and Cross (Chance to Stun + AE Melee Attack)
    3. Golden Strike (Melee Attack + Heal + Immunity)
    4. Wrathful Aegis (AE dmg + Bonus Hate)
    5. Fiery Aegis (AE dmg + AE knockdown + Poison/Disease Cure) *probably the most swappable slot*
    6. Incite (Taunt)
    7. Oathflame (Single Target Heal)
    8. Living Light (Group Heal)

Those seem to be the ones I absolutely don't want to go without, but man...the list of Utility things I don't get to do (consistently) is so long. Edicts, Evensong(s), Golden Aegis, all the Shimmers, Lance, Arcing Light, Glory & Honor, Defensive cooldowns, and anything else we don't know about yet. This is also assuming our Hymns will be persistant and won't require a 'spell slot'.

Edit: UPDATE - "There will be some exceptions on a class-by-class basis. For example, Warriors will be able to have their banners and formations on the utility bar." - Joppa

Close to the same I would swap out golden strike for Atone and swap Firey aegis for Golden Aegis.

    1. Fervent Strike (Melee Attack)
    2. Pommel and Cross (Chance to Stun + AE Melee Attack)
    3. Atone (Battle Resurrect)
    4. Wrathful Aegis (AE dmg + Bonus Hate)
    5. Golden Aegis (Immune to all damage for short time)
    6. Incite (Taunt)
    7. Oathflame (Single Target Heal)
    8. Living Light (Group Heal)

These two are like "OOOH CRAP" buttons. Resurrect your ally if needed and you can put yourself immune to all damage for a short time. If healer dies - Atone them and Golden Aegis and hope they can heal you fast enough to receover....

Yeah, Atone is a good one for sure.

The list of skills we have access to is inconclusive.  I made a comment in the general forums about the LAS and suggested having a different number of hotkeys available for tanks for this very reason.  Any other class will likely be able to change their skills on the fly (since their role doesn't rely on them getting punched in the face on the reg).

With that said, all of my choices would be dependent upon the cooldowns.

A LAS of 8 was fine for something like EQ when most classes had 5-6 types of abilities.  Casters either had 1-4 direct or over time spells and a few utility that they used regularly while melee had auto attack and a couple of skills like backstabs, bashes and taunts.  In EQ casters got several spells, but most of them were just upgrades of a previous one, or ones that you would likely never use.  When playing the necro again on P99 I think I bought 1-3 out of about 10-12 spells every 4 levels, just because I knew I wouldn't ever use some.  All of PRotF class skills sound absolutely amazing though, and if I'm forced to never have more than 8 slots, I will never bother with other skills for the very reason this post exists... There will likely be some abilities that are just absolutely neccessary to have on that bar at all times.  Especially with all of the Paladin's CC... when you "need" to use Glorified Self or any of the Edict of Celestial XYZ skills its highly unlikely that you are going to be able to take a break and swap out your hotkeys.  Chances are that the moment has passed by then.

Exactly. That's pretty much the opposite of fun, engaging, dynamic, and immersive. I don't want to see all of these cool Paladin abilities buried deep within the codex, because we can never justify the precious hotbar slot for them.
