Whitethaw being the name of the continent is in the south. You see a bit of land sticking out in some areas. It was noted that there would be land in the south and to the east so whether the map extends more to the east, we don't know. The idea it was in the north snow area was apparently shot down. We do know somewhat that the southern region will be where it's located.

Like was mentioned, Whitethaw is listed as the continent to the south.

At one point the 3 continents included 3 racial starting cities each (good/nuetral/evil races).  Apparently that isn't a thing anymore.

That opens up more of a possibility that they release with only 2 continents. Releasing with 2 starting continents is something I have speculated would happen since 2016 and we haven't seen anything that would prove that wrong, but it could be.

That wouldn't be out of line with history.

So would that be suggesting they backtrack on the 9 races to 6 or on the each race having it's own starting city?  (Note: the Gnome home city of Skyhold is in the sky so it's connection point could be anywhere)

So have you heard or read something by a Dev to suggest that, or is it just your own belief?

    stellarmind

Did you make that map or is it from VR and I've just never noticed it before?

It's awesome either way. Much more in character with the 'Old School' flavor of Pantheon.

Please don't take what I said out of context.  3 evil/good/nuetral races per continent is not a thing anymore as well as the portals as was mentioned recently in the round table...though relistening to it just now it can be deciphered differently and maybe the races per continent was just thrown in in addition to the portals?

    From the round table:

"Years ago we said that.  I think Brad came out and said that was one of the things we were only doing.  We'd have a portal to connect each continent and you'd have your three starting races on each one and it was basically that was it, you'd find your own way but ya.  That is very, very old news"

It's one of those thing where we have been told we were going to get an updated atlas since 2015 or 2016.  The lack of update at this point makes me think it won't be coming before release.
I hope they prove me wrong but it has been 4ish years now that we were told it was coming...

The lore mentions the connection is over whitethaw...which was the nuetral continent at one point but I guess that is not set in stone.  It can move.
