Anyone care to share any ideas on what we're actually looking at when viewing the Temporal Portal of the Spriggan Folk?
Presented in the latest newsletter in the section Underwraps (https://pantheonmmo.com/newsletter/2019_august_underwraps/)
A floating landmass of sharp rocks and in the very distance in the upper right corner some globelike structure?
Are we looking at gnome city? Or an in between landmass with it's own inhabitants?
Seeing that the Spriggan folk can open a portal to venture there. It must have some old connection to the world of Terminus down below.
What are your thoughts? What do you make of it? Or like to make of it.
If 20+ years of MMO's has taught me anything regarding things like this, it's:
- not what we think
- not even close to what we think.
:)
In any case, the text of the image (Oh look, another JPG, instead of PNG) reads:
Generated by the life-giving energies of the Oldwood Spriggan Tree as she enters into the Winter of her time,
Temporal Distortions such as this come forth at her command, allowing instantaneous travel for those willing to journey to places far away...
Couple of things.. a plural with "such as this"? I'm not sure what to make of that. It indicates more than one, then says "this" instead of these, so I'm not sure what they're trying to communicate.
A temporal distortion is one of time, not space, yet, it says "allowing instantaneous travel". Again, no idea what they're trying to say. If it's just a distortion, call it a reality distortion, or magic distortion, or visual distortion.
In-Game? I suspect it will be similar to the normal teleports available in the world to druids and wizards, but one way and available on a schedule.
If it's not that, then it leads to content you can't reach via any other method, or easily, so.. it's a either short-cut or unique instant teleport to zones like the planes of EQ1.
Hopefully, if that's the case, they provide non-casters a way to exit..
