Please, please be patient with me. I've not been able to keep up recently - but wanted to ask some questions about the recently removed Keeper's Pledge, and the Legate's Pledge.
I've already sub'd at Keepers, but want to understand the differences, since they were/are the same cost.
Keeper's Pledge:
Legate's Pledge:
So my question... these are fairly similar, but will all pledges get Early character creation? It looks like this was only added to a few, sporatic (new) pledge packages so it seems somewhat inconsistent/vague. If I wanted to change to the Legate's Pledge, which is the same cost that I paid for the Keeper's Pledge, is this possible and if so how would I do this? My Pledge pages shows I would still pay $100
Thank you in advance.
Well there are already two threads on this topic and I'd encourage you to use those for discussion but I'll answer your question.
From Artois (VR):
"And yes, the character creation will be something that can be done days before the game launches which will allow you to create and customize your character so you are ready to log in once the game launches. It will be part of the early name reservation system but not necessarily the same thing. However, earlier pledges will most likely have this provided as well."
So ... VR doesn't know doesn't yet know if they will allow us early character creation. It's likely? Sorry to give you the news.
As for you second question, changing a pledge would likely involve submitting a ticket to support and asking for help that way. :)
I am honestly thoroughly confused at this point and wish I'd taken a screenshot of the benefits of my original pledge. I paid $150 for the Patron's Pledge way back when. Last summer, I sent in a ticket asking VR about what benefits that came with, because I didn't see the Patron's Pledge anymore and my receipt didn't include a list of benefits - they told me that it includes everything in the $150 pledge plus alpha access.
Okay, that's all good. But now I'm looking at the "Protector's Pledge" (the current $150 pledge), and I'm noticing... Why does it not have early character creation listed as a bonus, like the $100 pledge has? Has it always been that way? Given that they recently changed the pledge rewards again, I'm now low-key anxious that because I don't have an image showing exactly what benefits I purchased back in 2016, I have only VR's word as to what I'm getting for my money. While I don't want to label them as untrustworthy, it's still not a comfortable position to be in. What if they change the $150 pledge rewards again? Will they have a record of what I should have gotten, or will they simply say "you get what it currently says at the $150, plus alpha"?
As a side note, I think it's weird that the pledges don't truly build off of one another. For example, the $150 pledge does not have some of the items included in the $100 pledge; the $200 pledge mysteriously loses access to the 5 in-game items present in the $150 pledge, that then reappear for the $250 pledge. This seems really off.
Tigersin, Thank you. I appreciate your response and patience. I apologize for flooding the forum; I'm sure these have been discussed to some extent. I did try to search for the early character creation thing but maybe I was being too specific - either way, I didn't see the response you quoted.
I would really like to see a page where retired pledges are listed - for those of us whose pledge is no longer available. My confirmation also didn't come with a list of benefits, just a generic "welcome" email. Moving forward, it would really help to have some context to some of these pledge benefits as well. For instance, what is the difference between the Explorer's Backpack and the Bag of the Legate? Tunic of the Ages vs Legate's Tunic?
Thank you for adding the (slighlty misalligned on my PC) description/information on early name reservation... one less question I have now!

From what I've been able to find, the Patron's Pledge included the following: Please see additional posts

Interesting. That's not at all what the current $150 pledge includes, which suggests that VR telling me it's the current $150 plus alpha access is not... accurate?
Can anyone use the way-back machine to capture what the website may have listed the old pledges (Patron's and others) as? I am not skilled. xD

When did you pledge?
I'm going to say the post I found earlier may have had incorrect information (and I've edited my post to remove the bad information). When I found a snapshot of the website from 6/16/2016, the Patron's Pledge included the following:
To be honest, i share you concerns.
I have also asked questions, but gotten no response in the (far i know) appropriate thread.
Now that i'm looking at one of my questions, being of the digital copy vs buddy code's, i see that my adviser's pledge has had that altered compared to when i purchased it (which wasn't long ago, but still was different at the time i purchased it) i do however have a screenshot of exactly what i ordered.
